The American Monk is the website of Mr John Lake. The aim of the site is to raise the consciousness of individuals to the ends of creating a turning point for life as we know it within the current world, and create an environment where people are in tune with their inner selves.
The site gathers together the experiences and conversations that Mr. Lake had when he met Mr. Burt Goldman (“The American Monk”) in Los Angeles in the year 2004. Mr. Lake regards The American Monk as a living example of fulfilment and self-realization, as with 80 years of age Mr. Goldman has undertaken a wide array of artistic activities and endeavors like music, painting and photography, and carried them to completion. According to the website, The American Monk could achieve this owing to the experiences he has had with spiritual masters the world over. These lessons are available on Mr. Lake’s website, and they comprise a short text which is augmented by 3 guided meditation exercises. A free sampler is likewise provided.
