TechHit.com – OutTwit – Synching Outlook and Twitter

TechHit.comDo you spend a lot of time hanging out on the internet with your email client open? Do you also like Twitter? A lot? Good news for you, then. OutTwit is a new application which synchs Outlook with Twitter so that you can receive your friends’ Twitters status updates as incoming email messages.

The messages show up in a sub-folder called “Twitter Messages” under your regular email inbox folder and you can assign custom categories to new messages. You can also specify how often you want OutTwit to check for new Twitter updates, and you cal also update your Twitter status directly from Outlook.

Why TechHit.com It Might Be A Killer

OutTwit is good for anybody who may use Twitter in a more professional setting and who may want or need to keep track of what other Twitter users are doing (say, in an office where Twitter might be used).

Some Questions About TechHit.com

I’m not sure about the necessity of OutTwit. If you’re just using Twitter socially, is there really a need for receiving Twitter updates directly in your Outlook inbox? Both Outlook and Twitter are relatively simple applications with equally simple interfaces that can run simultaneously without interfering with each other, so would someone really put in the effort to research and install a product like this? I wonder if it might be a better idea to launch an application that integrates with an email client with that features a built-in chat function, like Gmail. That might cater to an audience who’s already into the idea of seeing what their friends are up to over email. TechHit.com
