Simply put it, this new online destination acts as a RSS aggregator that indexes and displays content available in the most representative tech blogs and sites that can be found online as of this date.
The system does not merely collect information and present it indiscriminately, though.
What it does is to apply an algorithm that filters junk posts, and posts that stray from the main motif of the site are automatically filtered out.
The site has obviously just launched, and I think that an aspect which should be addressed as soon as possible is some sort of refinement mechanism when the user carries out a search. As it stands, any search which is executed simply displays all the relevant item arranged in chronological order.
Ultimately, (and as the programmer himself admits) this is just a reference tool. It will never act as a substitute of the sites themselves, but what it does achieve is letting everybody keep up with the technology industry and have a very good overview of where it is headed.
TechGnaw.com In Their Own Words
“TechGnaw (the name is a nod to TechCrunch, trust me I had some logic.. I think) is a Technology search engine and RSS Aggregator. Our system automatically indexes content from some of the best technology blogs and websites from around the web. The system then attaches a very rudimental algortym to get rid of junk posts and attach a rating for search ranking. It’s not going to replace visit the fantastic websites, but I hope it will be a great resource for people who want to keep up with the technology industry.”
