Tamil Nadu has reached a significant milestone by registering over 10,000 startups with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The state government announced this achievement on Sunday. StartupTN, the state’s dedicated agency for fostering innovation, has played a crucial role in this growth.
It has introduced various schemes and initiatives, including funding programs, mentorship opportunities, and incubation support to nurture the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Tamil Nadu. Shivaraja Ramanathan, Mission Director and CEO of StartupTN, highlighted the impressive growth of the startup community. The number of registered startups has surged from 2,300 in March 2021 to over 10,000 today.
Ramanathan credited this exponential increase to the revival of StartupTN under the leadership of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. “This exponential growth can be attributed to the revival of StartupTN under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru.
