Available for Windows and Mac, Swackett is a weather app that (first and foremost) aims to be clear and fun to use. It eschews the traditional text-oriented reports we’ve all grown to know (and in some cases, hate) in favor of a more visual approach. When Swackett is launched, it uses two characters to let you know what the weather is going to be like in the city that you live in. If it’s going to be grey and dreary, then these two folks will be dressed in overcoats and wearing umbrellas. If it’s going to be warm and sunny, then they’ll be wearing shorts and shades. You get the drift…
And those who are in the mood for even more detailed information will get it in a couple of clicks, as Swackett is capable of reporting on the speed and direction of wind, humidity and dew points, as well as providing animated satellite and radar imagery.
The end result is an application that is so easy to use (and so entertaining) that even children would get a lot out of it.
You can access the web version of Swackett here. And if you have a Mac, you can download the app at the other end of this link.
