Streets Of The Internet is a new initiative that hopes to bring the different sites and blogs on the Internet closer, and provide their owners with a readier tool for monetizing them.
The way it all works can be described along the following lines.
You, as a webmaster or blogger purchase a building on any of the streets that are listed on the site. People (IE, internauts) will be capable of seeing a screenshot and a description of your site or blog when they are “walking” the streets of the Internet and if they like what you show them then they simply enter the building. The more visitors, the more valuable your building (and the whole street) will become.
The actual streets of the Internet are presented in an isometric way. That is, the vantage point first utilized by some Ultimate games way back in the 80s – both “Gunfight” and “Knightmare” employed it. If you are younger, just think of either of the original Fallout games and you will know what I am talking about.
Buildings are currently sold for real money, but adding some beneficial buildings is in the agenda. These will provide information about different entertainment options. For example, if you walk into a cinema you will learn more about movies. And so on.
