uk is the official webpage of the University Of Strathclyde, situated in the center of Glasgow, the biggest and most cosmopolitan city in Scotland. Interestingly, the university actually dates back to 1796, when the original college was founded. Over time it has grown and incorporated other institutions. During the twentieth century, it developed a reputation for its technical education and research. In the sixties, the university merged with the Scottish College of Commerce and incorporated business studies, as well as courses in the Arts. Nowadays, the focus is on science and engineering, and management courses are also offered. One of the reasons why the university is so popular among international and exchange students, is its excellent reputation in the academic field. Another is its multi-disciplinary attitude towards research and investigation.
