Joseph’s Indian School. The school is located in Chamberlain, South Dakota and provides care and education to Native American boys and girls. The school takes care of the students’ basic educational and welfare needs. The school is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children and by the state of South Dakota. The school not only takes an active role in improving the life conditions of students, but of their families also. They work on three reservations to help improve the living conditions of many Native American families. There are also whole families living in the school grounds, this helps keep families together while assuring the children a quality education. Besides the traditional subjects, students receive education on their cultural heritage. Traditional Lakota language is taught in the school, to preserve the rich ancestry of these children. This is a great school that is helping preserve Native American culture.
