star citizen launches free play event

Star Citizen Event
Star Citizen Event

Star Citizen is running a free play event from November 22 to December 5. The event is part of the annual Intergalactic Aerospace Expo (IAE) celebration. It features a new tutorial system called the IAE Academy.

The tutorial is designed to help new and returning players get started. Players can test out new ships and refresh their survival skills in space. They can also prepare for exploration during the event.

After completing the new player experience in the Drake Cutter loaner ship, players can rent various ships. These ships can be used for missions like bounty hunting, cargo hauling, and mining. Participating in the event allows players to earn in-game currency (UEC), IAE clothing, and an armor and weapon kit.

This can help kickstart their space adventures. Cloud Imperium, the developer of Star Citizen, has introduced new ships as part of the event. One of these is the Terrapin Medic, which is described as “a welcome sight to any injured explorer or soldier.” The F7C Mk II line has also been expanded with the addition of the F7C-R and the F7C-S “Ghost.”

According to Cloud Imperium, “there’s never been a better time to fly in Star Citizen.” More details about the event can be found on the Star Citizen official website.

The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo is a limited-time event, so interested players should participate while it lasts.

free play event highlights

The free play period offers a great opportunity for lovers of space games like Starfield or No Man’s Sky to try out Star Citizen.

The game has been in development for over a decade and has received substantial investments. Despite this, it already offers plenty of engaging content for players to enjoy. During the IAE event, players can test drive over 150 different spaceships and vehicles for free.

The game features procedurally-generated planets, a persistent world, resource mining, bounty hunting, and a mix of on-foot FPS and third-person vehicular gameplay. All fictional manufacturers in the game will offer their products for free testing on a rotating schedule during the event. This means players can try out a wide range of vehicles, from nimble spaceships perfect for dogfighting to power armor for heavy cargo.

Friends can also join in on the two-week event of free test drives. New or returning players should check out the event’s ship rotation schedule and advice on starting their new adventure. While Star Citizen is still being developed, Cloud Imperium recently showcased some upcoming features.

However, these won’t be playable until 2026. The IAE 2954 event will be hosted in New Babbage on microTech. New pilots can sign up and play the game for free from November 22 through December 5.

Details about the event and the manufacturers displaying their ships on the show floor can be found on the official website.
