The U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) has disclosed a detailed payout schedule for various benefits for August 2024.
Deliveries are divided based on the beneficiaries’ Birthdays. Those born between the 1st and 10th will receive their benefits on the second Wednesday of August. Those born between the 11th and 20th will receive on the third Wednesday, and those born from the 21st to end of the month will get on the fourth Wednesday. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries will receive payments on the first day of the month unless it’s a holiday or weekend.
The August schedule includes six different payment dates for varied social security recipients.
Understanding August 2024’s Social Security payouts
For example, a single retiree might get up to three separate payments in August, including retirement benefits and SSI. A family with a disabled parent may qualify for different support amounts and delivery dates in the same month.
Furthermore, those who started receiving benefits before 1997 or are dual recipients of social security benefits and SSI will receive payments on the 3rd of the month, unless it’s a holiday or weekend. Those who became beneficiaries after 1997 will get payments on either the second, third or fourth Wednesday of the month, based on the birth date of the person on whose record they receive benefits.
This well-planned schedule helps social security recipients to familiarize themselves with payment dates, ensuring they can effectively budget and avoid any financial complications. Such a system also simplifies the process for financial institutions, fostering smoother and more reliable transactions.
Lastly, prompt communication remains a priority for SSA as they continue to provide regular updates regarding the successful management of benefits for the next month. Beneficiaries are encouraged to reach out in case of any delays or discrepancies in the stated payment dates.
