MySpace profiles are notoriously bombastic, and well ueber-ugly. The willy-nilly slapped together nature of the designs cries out for help.
Unfortunately, MySpace has yet to come up with a simple and elegant solution. However, MySpace’s lack is someone else’s opportunity, which is exactly where SnapLayout comes in. The Y Combinator company has come up with a simple WSIWYG editor for spicing up those profiles. Using it is simple. Users simply sign in with their MySpace log-ins and start dragging and dropping to implement changes. Premade templates are available, but users can customize on their own as well. Flickr photos can be pulled in as backdrops, text and colors can be changed completely, and header slideshows can be added with ease. SnapLayout also deals in widgets. Users can select and add widgets, starting out with a free gifting widget, as they please. Currently the gift widget is the only one available but more are in development.

“The new, simple way to customize and control your myspace profile.”
Why SnapLayout.com It Might Be A Killer
This app could be MySpace’s redemption. The infamously slow to innovate company needs something freshen it up which is precisely what SnapLayout does. It’s not only easy and free, it’s also pretty flexible and it’s got cool widgets. Heavy MySpace users will love it. Oh, and they’ve got MC Hammer in their demo video. Awesome, like in a totally teenaged 80’s kinda trashy, pulp way, no?
Some Questions About SnapLayout.com
Will MySpace shut this editor out as it does with so many other apps? Or will they come up with their own innovation for once and for all?
