SmartTickr may not look like much, but outward appearances are deceiving. SmartTickr was created by programmer Marcus Reimold.
It’s a new web application tool that scans the net for news updates and shows them in real time. Essentially, it’s an AJAX RSS reader. This means that new content is being constantly loaded into SmartTickr without having to refresh the screen. Content viewing is customizable. You can view multiple screens cascade style, as a series of boxes, scrolling, or as a series of index style cards. Feeds are trawled from websites like MoMB, the New York Times, CNN, and Twitter to name a few. It also has a number of other features. It’s a social widget directory and it’s also an easy widget generator among others. Simply sign up to get your RSS feeds, apps, email, and bookmarks in real time. It’s free.
