If You Find Friends And DJs That Are Your Music Soul Mates… Well, That’s Just Serendip

Music is like fashion– the trends frequently change and every season you need to buy a new wardrobe of songs. That’s how I’ve felt recently with my 2010 Summer in London or Chill Study playlists sounding really stale. So where do I turn for new music suggestions? Well, my friends of course. And, when I see a music or video share on Facebook, I’m quick to check it out.

Serendip is helping out-of-fashion music lovers like me keep up with what’s trending and what my friends like with curated playlists based on what your friends are sharing on Twitter and Facebook.

The guys behind the app

Sagee Ben-Zedeff and Asaf Atzmon are the two Israeli entrepreneurs behind Serendip.

Sagee, the avid music lover and Twitterholic, has worked in high-tech companies and startups in Israel and has developed many products for consumer and enterprise markets, even holding several patents in visual communications, streaming, network optimization, etc. It’s no wonder he took his honed tech skills to the startup street (with boombox on shoulder, no doubt).

Musical Twitter

Serendip is a lot like Twitter in that you can follow people that share your same type of music, and “ReAir” a song they have posted. The site creates playlists for you through YouTube, Soundcloud, Vimeo, etc., putting the songs and videos back to back for your musical pleasure.

Each user has a profile where you can share your musical taste with the whole wide web world.

Finding your musical soul mate

Bottom line- Serendip wants to help you find your musical soul mate–whether it be a new DJ or random music geek from Ohio– so you can discover new music and share what you’ve found.

I know I’ll be cleaning out my music closet in hopes for some new, trendy tunes to rock. And, maybe some DJs to stalk. Man, I have a thing for DJs.
