The Select 2008 website contains polls, information and food for thought regarding the coming elections. The visitor can take part of several polls which produce an elaborate results page.
This works by pitching a candidate against another, like Clinton against Obama, for instance. A results page is then produced, which contains a numeric percentage of voters that support each candidate; and this results page also details the aspects where each candidate has the edge over the other, based on the information submitted by the users. A “What’s Hot” page lets the visitor consult the top 20 questions so far, complete with trends indicators. Some of the hottest questions include whether making health insurance mandatory for all U.S. residents is a good idea or no; and another hot question that is posed is whether authorizing the war in Iraq was an irresponsible decision, or the right choice given the circumstances. Lastly, the site links to the Select 2008 blog, which compares the position and program of the presidential candidates.
