SDRM.org – Pacific Southwest Railway Museum

SDRM.orgThe Pacific Southwest Railway Museum Association is a non-profit educational organization which is dedicated to preserve and interpret railroads as they were in the Pacific Southwest. You can take excursions run by the museum on many weekends on portions of the San Diego and Arizona Railway using actual vintage equipment.

The main facility of the museum is located in Campo, California. The Museum is operated by volunteers, who are responsible for each part of its process. A Federal Railroad Administration approved training program is used to train brakemen, conductors, fireman and engineers in a safe manner. Many of the museum’s volunteers have been able to get full-time employment with several different railroads as well as Amtrak. Most of the museum’s collection can be found at the Campo facility. Over eighty major pieces of railroad equipment are on display, with many of them in various stages of restoration by the volunteers. SDRM.org
