Samsung Electronics announced its latest innovation in smart home technology, the ‘AI Home’ product line, which will debut at CES 2025. The new line emphasizes the seamless integration of home appliances through advanced AI and connectivity features, primarily managed via the SmartThings platform. The ‘AI Home’ concept allows users to control all connected home appliances through an interface on devices such as the Bespoke AI Combo refrigerator.
By touching the screen, users can raise living room curtains, turn on and off lights, check today’s schedule, and stream YouTube videos. SmartThings provides the backbone for this connectivity, allowing integration and management of various devices including smartphones, tablets, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, lighting, security cameras, and sensors. Samsung Electronics revealed that the number of domestic users for SmartThings has surpassed 20 million, with significant growth attributed to recent AI function upgrades.
SmartThings users commonly leverage the platform for remote diagnosis and management of appliances, monitoring power usage to save energy, and ensuring pet safety through remote control functions. Over 1,000 users have connected more than 100 products within the SmartThings ecosystem.

Key features of the AI Home lineup include appliances with touchscreens, such as the 9-inch touchscreen Bespoke refrigerator and a similar 7-inch one for washing machines and dryers. These screens allow users to interact with the devices, control other connected appliances, and utilize Bixby, the AI voice assistant, for a hands-free experience. Users can access internet apps, such as weather updates, YouTube, and Spotify directly from these screens.
Samsung’s vision for the future comprises more than just connected appliances; it aims for complete home automation. The smart refrigerators, particularly those equipped with family hubs and large touchscreens, serve as central hubs for controlling all smart home devices, including door locks, curtains, and lighting. These advanced appliances can recognize voices of family members to customize experiences like schedule reminders and media viewing.
Moon Jong-seung, head of Samsung Electronics’ DA business division, remarked, “Samsung screen home appliances have a clear competitive edge to provide a smooth device connection experience through a screen-based ‘AI Home.’ We will continue to introduce various AI home appliances and services that help users ease the labor of household chores and enjoy a wide range of device connection experiences.”
As a part of the AI Home functionality, Samsung also demonstrates the SmartThings Home Monitoring feature, which helps users keep track of their pets in real time, showcasing the practical applications of integrated smart home technology. CES 2025 is set to be an exciting platform where Samsung Electronics will unveil these cutting-edge innovations, solidifying their place at the forefront of smart home technology.
