Samsung is gearing up to release a special edition of its Galaxy Z Fold 6 foldable phone. Leaked images have given us a sneak peek at what we can expect from this upcoming device.

The photos confirm the phone will have a triple rear camera setup, though it likely won’t include a periscope telephoto lens for enhanced zoom.

On the right edge, there’s a power button and volume rocker, which may double as a fingerprint sensor. The frame appears to be flat, potentially improving grip and durability.

Excitingly, the leaked images suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition will come in at least two color options: a classic dark shade and a striking gold finish.

This bold gold option could help differentiate the special edition and appeal to those wanting a more luxurious look.

Android Headlines first reported on this special edition a month ago, noting it would feature a brushed metal back for a more rugged appearance. The new photos seem to confirm this design choice.

While the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is expected to be unveiled before the end of the year and will likely use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, those hoping to buy it may be disappointed. It is rumored that Samsung will launch the phone exclusively in China and South Korea.

One of the device’s most striking aspects is its thinness. Early rumors called it the “Galaxy Z Fold Slim,” and its reported dimensions—just 4.9mm thick when unfolded and 10.6mm folded—explain why. Despite the smaller size, the display aspect ratio is expected to remain the same as that of other Fold models.

Foldable phones have gained popularity in recent years, but some apps, like Gboard, haven’t fully optimized their interfaces for these devices. However, Android Authority’s Mishaal Rahman spotted a new Gboard UI on his Galaxy Z Fold 6, which was enabled after updating to version 14.6.02-beta. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition looks to combine innovative design with practical features, positioning it as a strong contender in the foldable phone market.
