First established in the year 1938 in Polk County (Texas), Sam Houston Electric Cooperative has been providing electric services to Texans for more than 65 years now. The services available to members of the Cooperative are described in the relevant section.
Members can get services for new constructions, and they can also get service at an existing location where electric service had previously been provided. Moreover, members can upgrade the current service they are receiving, and enlarge the existing electrical service in order to meet new home or office needs. Information on the reading and testing of electric meters is likewise featured, along with a description of the dangers of meter tampering. In most cases, the information that is available online can also be downloaded as PDF files for easy reference. The steps that should be taken in order to become a member are explained online. Application forms are included as well.
