Sony is gearing up to release a special PS5 Slim Digital Anniversary Edition console on November 21. Preorders for this limited edition PS5 will open on October 10 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. The console costs $500, which is $100 more than the standard PS5 Slim Digital.
It features a unique design inspired by the original PlayStation, with special faceplates and a matching DualSense controller. While the console has the same hardware and features as the regular PS5 Slim Digital, it does not include a disc drive. For those who want to play physical games, a separate disc drive can be purchased.
Preorders open for limited PS5
This drive comes with an additional PS1-themed faceplate. Major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Target will offer the PS5 Slim Digital Anniversary Edition for preorder.
Walmart will have preorders exclusively for their paid members to help combat bots and scalpers. In addition to the anniversary console, Sony is also launching a new Chroma line of faceplates and controllers with iridescent colors. The PS5 Pro will be available for preorder on the same day, with a release date set for November 7.
