Pixton is an online user-generated comic strip. Without having to draw, people of all ages can share their ideas, opinions, and stories — publishing them instantly to a worldwide web audience.
“We’re really excited about building a community, where people can freely express themselves in a common illustrative style,” states Clive Goodinson, creator of Pixton.
“Remixing is a key feature of Pixton. You can allow others to build on your episode, while leaving the original intact. This creates the potential for mass-collaboration in a creative medium.”
Pixton is free to use. Anyone can view comics that are rated as suitable for a general audience. By signing up online, you can compose your own Pixton characters, dialog, scenes, and episodes with an easy-to-use editor, as well as rate content and submit comments.
Why Pixton.com Redefines the Comic Strip It Might Be A Killer
A number of user-generated comic strips exist, but Pixton blows them all away. The Pixton editor (see http://www.pixton.com/create/episode/) is an intuitive Flash application which is easy to use, yet feature-rich. In-situ screencasts (instructional videos) further help people get on their way to creating their own comic strip.
Our goal is to redefine the comic strip, for the 21st century.
