PirateParty.ca – The Pirate Party Of Canada

PirateParty.caA writer once commented something along the lines of “forbidding something does nothing but to increment people’s desire to do it”. If we were to look for an example of that in motion within real life, we would have to look no further than the Pirate Bay.

Every single day I come across two or three stories about the popular service and the many ramifications it has had ever since the authorities decided to close it up for good. And The Pirate Party of Canada is one such ramification.

In essence, it is a site which aims to reform the current Canadian copyright laws along with the patent system as a whole. Membership is free, and those who favor the already-mentioned issues and others like net neutrality will be able to champion these causes right here.

I would like to make it clear that I am against piracy myself, but I respect the right of other people to express their views respectfully and in a coherent manner. That is why I decided to feature this new website today. I read some very interesting things on the site, and I can honestly say that no matter what your ideology is you will find many things to mull over here.

PirateParty.ca In Their Own Words

“Started in 2009, the Pirate Party of Canada strives to reform Canadian copyright laws, reform the patent system, and protect every Canadian’s right to privacy. It is our current goal to complete the registration process to become an official federal party.”
