The way things stand, I am sure the vast majority of people use an engine like Google or Bing in order to look up the most specific of things, and there is really nothing wrong with that. These search engines have gained our trust, and if we have to click through a couple of pages owing to the specificity of what we have looked up then so be it.
However, there are people who don’t even have one minute to spare. They want exactly what they inputted without having to click through a single page. Such individuals are the ones who will put a site like PDFPick to a truly purposeful use
Essentially, PDFPick is a search portal that will let anybody look for any PDF that can be found on the World Wide Web, no matter how specific or obscure it actually is. If it is online, you will find it.
I think the site would work better if some sort of instant preview were offered. I guess that the “Online View” feature serves that purpose, but I would prefer a thumbnails system. Still, that is only a minor complaint, and the site is more than usable as it is.
