Google has selected two Pakistani startups, AdalFi and Adlytic AI, to participate in its inaugural AI Academy in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The AI Academy aims to boost the capabilities and innovative potential of startups across APAC. The program kicked off earlier this week with a three-day boot camp in Singapore.

AdalFi and Adlytic AI joined 21 other companies from India, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. Participants will receive over 170 hours of guidance from AI and Cloud experts, up to $350,000 in Cloud credits, and opportunities to connect with AI innovators across the region. Launched in August, the AI Academy is dedicated to supporting the growth of AI startups in Pakistan and the broader APAC region.

It fosters cross-border innovations and partnerships, allowing for the exchange of ideas, expertise, and resources. The goal is to position APAC as a global hub for AI development.

The selected Pakistani startups are making significant contributions to the AI ecosystem. AdalFi offers an AI-powered credit scoring system that increases access to financial services and promotes inclusivity for individuals and small businesses. Adlytic AI transforms retail analytics by utilizing CCTV cameras as intelligent tools, helping retailers make better use of visual and geospatial data to grow their operations.

Micheal Kim, Head of Startups, expressed excitement about the AI Academy’s potential impact. AI has the potential to be an incredible force multiplier, and it’s amazing to see these 23 startups harnessing AI’s potential to address some tough challenges, ranging from expanding access to financial services and healthcare to building AI collaborators for lawyers and democratizing influencer marketing with AI-generated avatars,” he said. Kim added that the program aims to foster a wave of innovation that will ripple across the entire APAC region.

All participating startups will showcase their refined AI solutions to investors, entrepreneurs, and AI industry leaders on Graduation Day in December. This event marks the culmination of their journey through the AI Academy, setting the stage for future advancements and innovations in the AI sector.
