OpenAI is starting a special event called “12 days of OpenAI.” CEO Sam Altman announced that each weekday, from December 5 to December 20, the company will have a livestream to launch or demo a new product or feature. Altman said, “Each weekday, we will have a livestream with a launch or demo, some big ones and some stocking stuffers. We’ve got some great stuff to share, hope you enjoy! Merry Christmas.”

OpenAI has not said exactly what it will announce.

But there are guesses about what might be coming. Some people think OpenAI will release a new model that can make videos from text descriptions. Others think there will be a new “reasoning” model that is very smart at figuring things out.

One thing people are excited about is a model called “o1.” This could help OpenAI get ahead of other AI companies like Google and Anthropic. Another big possibility is a video-making model called Sora.

12 days of updates

Some artists have already tested it out. But they were not happy because they felt like they were doing work for OpenAI without getting paid. Google has its own video AI called Veo.

Businesses can use it now through Google’s Vertex AI service. OpenAI employees have been hinting about the event on social media. They seem very excited for everyone to see what the company will announce.

The “12 days of OpenAI” will be a big deal for the world of AI. People will be watching closely to see what new and amazing things OpenAI has created.
