OnNYturf.com – Google and NYC Subway Mashup

OnNYturf.comThis next startup tool might make you go “like, duh!” why hasn’t anyone ever thought of this before? Well maybe it’s not incredibly mind blowing for those who live off the island, (or were voted off) but for those living in NYC, this new Google and Subway mashup could be pretty darn useful. OnNYturf is a news aggregation site for all things NYC, but what we think is useful is their map, which thousands are logging into everyday to use already.

It’s basically subway routings overlayed on a google map, so you can type in the address and see where the closest subway stop is.

Why OnNYturf.com It Might Be A Killer

So why didn’t the guys at Google think of this before? This is a useful service, seeing as you can type in an address and find the exact coordinates for the nearest subway stop. If Google or another service could do this for more cities, it would probably contribute to the greater good… taking those map carrying, fumbling tourists off the streets.
