OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 13R, also known as the Ace 5, will launch in China in December. In India, the phone is expected to release alongside the OnePlus 13 in January. Online discussions have provided insights into what to expect from the new model.

The OnePlus 13R is rumored to feature a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel and may be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The phone is expected to come with a 6300mAh battery with 100W charging support. It may sport a 50-megapixel primary camera alongside a 2-megapixel triple camera setup.

The front camera is anticipated to have a 16-megapixel lens for selfies. The starting price of the OnePlus 13R is expected to stay below Rs 45,000. This announcement follows the launch of the OnePlus 13 in October in India.

A leaker has posted an image showing the OnePlus Ace 5, which is expected to debut globally as the OnePlus 13R.

The picture reveals flat edges, a flat screen, an alert slider on the left edge, and a circular triple camera housing on the back.

The image, shared by a Weibo leaker, shows a phone with flat metal edges, a flat screen, an alert slider, and a circular triple rear camera system. The leaker adds that the phone has a ceramic back. OnePlus has also confirmed on Weibo that the Ace 5 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is a powerful chipset capable of handling demanding tasks.

The tipster, Digital Chat Station, pointed to the OnePlus Ace 5 having a flat screen and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Additionally, the phone is said to feature a ~6,000mAh silicon battery, a 50MP IMX906 main camera, and a 50MP JN1 telephoto camera. These features, if accurate, would mark a significant upgrade over the already excellent OnePlus 12R.

Previously, the OnePlus 12R was praised for its excellent performance, 80W wired charging, high-quality screen, and great battery life. However, it faced criticism for its “clunky” software, lack of wireless charging, and underwhelming cameras. If the leaked features of the OnePlus 13R prove true, it could solidify its place as next year’s best mid-range smartphone in the US.

The phone is anticipated to launch soon, and expectations are high for this follow-up to the well-received predecessor.
