A social discovery app, Ntro is here to make it easy for you to find people who like the very same things you like, and then friend them on Facebook. This new application allows you to connect with people that have your very same interests, and with whom you have some friends in common. The app is available both for iPhone and Android, and it lets you find nearby people who are in your same wavelength, introduce yourself, and (if you strike up a good rapport) befriend them on the social service of your choice. And Ntro lets you do that securely, as the app never shares your private information (like your phone number or email address) without your consent.
Ntro is taking on services such as Sonar, Banjo and Mingle. It seems to have taken the best of each, as it can individualize nearby people who have your same interests (like Sonar does), it lets you introduce yourself (as you would when using Mingle) and it simplifies everything by automating everything as much as possible. That is Banjo’s defining feature, and you get it when using Ntro.
Ntro has been launched in L.A. and the San Francisco Bay area, with more cities around the US to be supported before too long.
