Sponsored by the Navy Seabee Veterans of America, Inc., NSVA.org is the site for all retired Seabees to meet online, socialize and engage in veterans’ activities. NSVA.org comes with a calendar of events, a corner where reunion pictures are posted, and a store where items and merchandise can be bought and sold.
The requirements for joining the NSVA are listed on this page. Basically, the site is open to all retired and active members of the Seabees, along with support personnel branches of services like fleet personnel and Marine Corps. The application form can be found here.
Once you’ve joined, you’ll be able to see that the site itself is split in two different sections: one for National Officers, and other for Deep/Island Officers.
And for those who are not in the military, the site includes a detailed history of the Seabees, including their origins, their purpose and their objectives. Useful not only for curious people, but also for children who have some schoolwork to do. The site even includes the Seabee’s song, and a museum where you can see memorabilia and the kind of items that tell a part of the history of our country.
NSVA.org is rounded by a collection of links to sites such Military.com, SeabeeTV and the Department of Veteran Affairs.
