Today’s Killer Startup: Noodler

Elevator Pitch
Noodler is a noodle recipe app.
Why It’s A Killer Startup
My boyfriend was browsing Product Hunt the other day when he stopped and turned to me.
“Emma,” he said. “There’s a noodle recipe called Noodler. This is basically made for you.”
And oh, how right he was. My love of noodles — and Asian noodle dishes in particular — is unmatched. When we were in Japan, I ate almost no sushi, but had at least one bowl of ramen or udon per day. Here in Vietnam, pho is an at least weekly affair. Bun thit nuong, the rice noodle dish that comes with delicious grilled pork on top and fresh veggies underneath, is also a regular in my diet. When I lived in South America, the thing I missed the most was good Asian food. Seriously: it made me actively homesick.
So yeah, Noodler, you have my number. The app opens with a great illustration of a bowl of noodle soup, which you can click on if you want a recipe, or there’s a little button at the bottom that will give you a new one. Scroll through the different options and find yourself salivating at the description of each soup — that’s what I did.
Or, pick one and choose to either cook it or add it to your favorites. If you choose cook, Noodler will give you a recipe that’s broken down into each individual ingredient, as represented by a drawing. The format seems a little odd at first, as it’s not the customary narrative representation of a recipe, but once you click each ingredient and see the serious break down, you realize that soup really is less mixing things together and more adding a bunch of things into one bowl. So yeah, it’s weird at first, but it totally makes sense.
Now that I live in Southeast Asia, most of these ingredients are readily available for me. (Honestly, that’s probably 70% of the reason why I moved out here.) But even those of you in the West have access to these fresh, delicious ingredients. What are you waiting for?? Get cooking!
