NoHarmm.org is an organization that advocates stopping any kind of genital cutting customs imposed upon normal, healthy children in the name of family, culture, religion or medicine.
Even when genital cutting in girls tend to be as severe, or more so, than those imposed on boys, male kids are six times more likely to be subjected to these genital violations than girls. This organization created The Genital Integrity Ribbon based in the ideas of the late human rights activist John A. Erickson. The most important point is the respect for individual rights to one’s own body, in other words, the children’s rights to bodily integrity and eventual self-determination. NoHarmm.org basic premise is that physical integrity and self-determination are basic and universal rights recognized by numerous international human rights treaties.
