Nintendo has surprised fans with the release of a new interactive alarm clock called Alarmo.

The device, priced at $99.99, aims to make waking up a playful and immersive experience by featuring animations, sounds, and characters from popular Nintendo games. Alarmo offers users the ability to choose from 35 scenes inspired by five Nintendo titles: Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure.

When the alarm triggers, gentle sounds from the selected scene play, and a character appears on the screen to help wake you up. The device includes motion sensor technology that allows users to snooze the alarm with a wave of their hand and stop it by getting out of bed. If you stay in bed too long, the alarm intensifies, and a more persuasive character, such as Bowser, may appear to ensure you get up.

In addition to the alarm function, Alarmo provides features like sleep tracking through its Records function, hourly chimes themed to your chosen game, and options for Steady or Gentle alarm modes.

Nintendo’s playful new morning routine

Steady Mode gradually increases the alarm’s intensity the longer you stay in bed, while Gentle Mode maintains a consistent level.

Nintendo plans to update Alarmo with new scenes from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons for free in the future. The device is compatible with twin to king-sized beds and should be placed facing the center of the bed, within arm’s reach, and no higher than eight inches above the sleeper. For a limited time, paid members of Nintendo Switch Online in the United States and Canada can purchase Alarmo online via the My Nintendo Store before it becomes available to the general public.

The device is set to release in early 2025. While some fans may have been hoping for news about the next Nintendo console, the company has instead chosen to focus on expanding its product lineup with this unique alarm clock. Alarmo demonstrates Nintendo’s willingness to innovate and bring its beloved characters and worlds into everyday life.
