The Sheriff’s Office of Haywood County is set to implement a revolutionary software system named ‘Essential Personnel.’ The software was developed to enhance employee wellbeing and facilitate effective behavior monitoring. It’s projected to help improve workplace productivity, promote transparency, and foster a more cooperative working environment.

Essential Personnel’s implementation has been made feasible through a generous $25,000 grant provided for a two-year term to the Board of Commissioners. Its aim is to meet the requirements of Senate Bill 300, while simultaneously boosting overall workforce wellbeing. The software represents a strong commitment to employee personal and professional development, promoting a workplace environment conducive to heightened productivity.

The software operates as a tracking and training tool, ensuring strict compliance with tasks and preparing staff members for a variety of real-world circumstances. Managers will receive automatic alerts during notable events, allowing them to make informed decisions swiftly.

Boosting efficiency with new Sheriff’s Office software

Essential Personnel employs a real-time monitoring approach, minimizing chances for error in performance.

One of the key attributes of the Essential Personnel software is its ability to assist with early interventions, particularly regarding mental health. It’s beneficial for guards and 911 operators as it’s designed to monitor stress levels and identify potential issues before they escalate, essentially creating a healthier and more efficient work setting.

According to Chairman Kevin Ensley, examples of ‘notable events’ that could trigger alerts include scenarios such as firearm discharge, force application, vehicle accidents, and citizen complaints. The implementation of this software is seen as a pivotal move that ensures tasks align with constitutional guidelines.

The software also includes a feature that alerts for upcoming certification expirations, reducing staff workload. Chief Deputy Matt Trantham and Chairman Ensley aim for a swift activation, setting a one-week implementation timeframe. Following installation, configurations are scheduled to ensure smooth operation. The application of Essential Personnel is expected to stimulate improvements in workflow, efficiency, and management within the Sheriff’s Office of Haywood County.
