N Space Tech, a defense and aerospace startup based in Andhra Pradesh, has successfully launched and communicated with its first payload, SwetchaSAT-V0, aboard ISRO’s PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM-4) as part of the SPADEX Mission. The payload is designed to test an indigenously developed ultra-high frequency (UHF) communication system. The hardware for this mission was entirely designed and manufactured by N Space Tech.
This mission is a testament to our dedication to developing reliable satellite communication systems,” said Divya Kothamasu, founder of N Space Tech. SwetchaSAT-V0 symbolizes months of hard work and innovation by our team.”
The successful transmission of data from the payload has been reliably received, confirming the effectiveness of the technology.
Tech advances in satellite communication
The POEM-4 platform repurposes the spent fourth stage of the PSLV rocket into a stable orbital environment for experimental payloads, enabling startups like N Space Tech to test their innovations without launching entire satellites. Sudheer Kumar N, former Director of CBPO at ISRO, emphasized that such initiatives will help India become a competitive player in the satellite industry. With this launch, N Space Tech aims to expand its capabilities into the Ku-band frequencies in future missions.
The startup, founded in 2020 by Divya Kothamasu and Raghuram Kothamasu, specializes in satellite communication systems and has quickly established itself as a key player in India’s private space sector. As India continues to enhance its position in the global aerospace industry, N Space Tech’s achievements underscore the potential for innovation and growth within the sector.
