MetaWeather is a weather data aggregation tool. This site collects weather update information from numerous sources, and produces this output, which is a conglomerated average of all of the data received.
The thought behind this site is that the more sources consulted to make a weather prediction, the more likely the information will be accurate. Users can search by location, or select a region on the interactive map. The daily and two-day forecasts are provided, complete with temperature, conditions, and wind movements. Consulted sources are also cited, allowing the user to click on those sites for more information.
MetaWeather.com In Their Own Words
“MetaWeather is an automated weather data aggregator that takes the weather predictions from various forecasters and calculates the most likely outcome. The thinking is that the combined knowledge of the forecasters will produce a better prediction.”
Why MetaWeather.com It Might Be A Killer
The information produced on this site is likely to be highly accurate. However, the amount of information is limited. For example, Buenos Aires is the only location in South America for which a weather update is provided. With more info and more represented cities, this site would greatly improve.
