Maven.net – Maven Launches Partnership With Fox News

Maven.netFox News is partnering with Maven Networks, an internet TV platform company, to grant the channel more widespread and efficient streaming news videos. The latest version of Maven’s technology streamlines the delivery and monetization of thousands of hours of ad-supported news videos across Fox’s online network and affiliate websites.

Since Maven also prides itself on its ability to both generate profit for a network through advertising network integration and revenue-generating ad models designed specifically for Internet TV, Fox should not only see an increase in the number of videos it will be able to offer, but also, an increase in profit by allowing its affiliates to also host Maven on their networks (Maven enables media companies to make their video libraries available for syndication to a network of online media outlets, while maintaining full control of their content and advertising). Maven and Fox are set to launch their collaborative efforts on October 15th.

Maven.net In Their Own Words

“Maven Networks (www.maven.net) is powering the Internet TV revolution. As a critical technology partner, Maven enables professional media companies to quickly and easily create, distribute and profit from direct-to-consumer Internet TV channels and networks. The Maven Internet TV Platformâ„¢ is used by industry-leading organizations around the globe such as CBS’s CSTV, The Financial Times, Fox News, Hearst, SONY BMG, Sony Pictures Television, TV Guide, and Univision Online”.

Why Maven.net It Might Be A Killer

This sounds like a smart move for Fox. Previously, its online multimedia selection didn’t match that of other large news networks such as CNN, so the partnership with Maven should definitely give Fox’s website a much-needed video overhaul. Since Maven allows for expansion to affiliates, Fox’s sister networks should also benefit, generating more profit through Maven’s synchronized advertising system.

Some Questions About Maven.net

If Fox is simply looking to keep up with other online news providers, then the Maven partnership will certainly accomplish that. However, if they were looking to draw users away from other networks, they would need to offer something a little more radical, considering networks such as CBS already use Maven’s technology. Also, since Fox is known for being more to the right than other news providers, chances are integrating Maven’s technology wouldn’t shakeup the loyal fanbases of any left-leaning or middle-of-the road news networks.
