The number of Google-maps mashups being developed these days seems ridiculous; who knew mapping would become so popular? But then again, there are some interesting results, like Mappeo. This site is an entertaining combo of cartography and Youtube videos.
You can geo-locate videos on the map or using the search bar and filter by keywords. For example, you could try Scrubs + France, and find a rather amusing French-dubbed ep of the popular medical comedy. Some videos really have nothing to with location; for instance, videos of small pets crawling into things seems to have international appeal. While it doesn’t appear to have a user submit function, you’ll no doubt get a few chuckles from the offerings on site.

Mappeo is an interesting site. It takes two very popular apps and mashes them together; in theory, the end result should be doubly popular. If not that, it’s at least a good place to go for some mildly educational, but certainly entertaining video clips.

What exactly is the point of Mappeo? Users could just as well search Youtube for the same results. Although videos are mapped, they may have nothing to do with the country or region from which they come.
