Chris and Will Donnelly launched Lottie in 2021 after struggling to find suitable care for their grandmother. The platform was originally envisioned as a “Rightmove for care homes” but has since evolved into a multi-faceted service designed to revolutionize the care industry. Lottie’s main offering is a marketplace that allows families to find carefully vetted care homes, retirement living options, and at-home care services.
The platform provides transparent fee comparisons, addressing one of the major pain points in eldercare – hidden costs and financial uncertainty. Beyond the marketplace, Lottie offers several other services, including Found by Lottie, a CRM software for care providers; Seniorcare by Lottie, an employee benefits platform; and Care IQ, a data insights tool offering invaluable information about the elderly care market. Since its inception, Lottie has experienced remarkable growth.
Lottie disrupts UK’s eldercare system
It now supports over one million people in finding care each month and is partnered with 3,000 care providers across the UK. The company launched the largest Care Seeker Survey in the UK in 2024, polling 1,000 care seekers to better understand their experiences and improve its services.
Lottie has ambitious plans to expand globally, with plans to enter markets in India, Australia, and the US. The company has raised £25m so far, including a £16.3m funding round in 2023, positioning it well for this expansion.
