It just had to happen, I guess. A “Like” button for Twitter had to materialize someday.
Well, the day has come. And if it did not happen before then that is simply because it is not really a service anybody would go out of his way for.
Theoretically, it is something that will have some uses when it comes to measuring the efficacy of marketing campaigns carried out through Twitter. But that is only in theory; the results won’t be unequivocal in any sense. They will probably become more reliable when used in conjunction with other indicators.
Procuring and installing such a button couldn’t actually be easier. All you have to do is click on the banner that reads “Get The Like Button“ for the “Like” option to become displayed from that point onwards to people who come across any of your tweets. You don’t have to sign up for the service, much less pay anything. All you have to do is authenticate who you are using your Twitter credentials. No other information must be disclosed.
