Ever since Google Plus hangouts became popular, online services that let you do things with your friends have attracted everybody’s attention. It doesn’t take a lot of imagination to figure out that’s the way the Internet is headed. And the release of services like Let’s Listen does nothing but underline that fact. As its name suggests, Let’s Listen is a service for listening to music with your friends. It’s available for free, and you can use it without having to create an account. By merely clicking on the button that reads “Just Start Listening” you’ll be creating an online room that your friends can then join to listen to the very same music you’re enjoying. You have to mail them the code for your room so that they can join it, but that’s basically it. They won’t have to disclose any other kind of information to get in.
Still, it’s good to mention that integration both with Facebook and with Twitter is provided. Signing in with either service obviously makes it a lot easier to share your room code with the people in your life. But if you don’t want to do it, then that’s not a problem. You’ll still get to invite everybody by email, and you’ll be able to use the service as fully as you want.
