Lemon.com accounts cost nothing, and the provided mobile app (only Android is supported for the time being, but that is changing soon) can also be downloaded for free.
There are two ways in which registered users of Lemon.com can have their receipts stored: via email, and by scanning them using their mobiles. In the first case, they simply send their online receipts to the personal @lemon account they get when signing up for the service. And as far as having receipts scanned goes, all that users must do is to photograph the receipts with their smartphones. The Lemon app will do the rest, and have them turned into analyzable files.
Because that’s where the real strength of this service lies – how it lets users take a good look at their every expenditure, and start figuring out ways in which to maximize what little money they might have. That’s what sites like SpendTrace have been doing for quite some time now, and it’s really nice to see the release of services that come with an increasing support for mobile devices and technology.
