Keyboardr.com – A Google Search Mashup

Keyboardr.comA very young startup that has just surfaced, Keyboardr can be defined as a Google Search mashup that lets you take care of the proceedings by using your keyboard (hence the title).

The search itself is in actuality a meta-search, since results in resources and hosting services including YouTube and Wikipedia are looked up.

Once the results are displayed, you can sift through them using the cursor keys instead of clicking around. It is a different approach, and one you get used to easily after a while.

The site itself includes a blog where the future plans of this promising search tool are described. Issues that call for attention and that are going to be dealt with forthright include Friendfeed, Delicious and Twitter support. For its part, support for Google Docs is also underway. If all goes well, Mr. Eckert (the mind behind this project) also hopes to include an extension system that will enable anybody to integrate his web service into Keyboardr interface. This would effectively turn Keyboardr into a sort of central station for web-based tasks.
