Kdl.org is the official site for the Kent District Library, and a truly great website too.
By visiting it, you can discover the full library catalogue, learn what new books have been purchased, log on to your profile to see when books which you’ve borrowed are due, renew your subscription, explore the digital archive of eBooks, audiobooks, videos and other multimedia, and some other features as well. The site also carries special sections comprising links and resources to make your tax declarations, and even a section where the library’s staff recommend booklists on several categories to get a crash-course on anything you like, from the best of fiction, science-fiction, short stories or romance, or even follow the trail of the books you’ve already read and enjoyed. For instance, if you are a fan of the ‘Da Vinci Code’, find a list of similarly themed books which you will probably enjoy. For younger audiences, the site offers a variety of homework help and reference works, plus games and activities, like coloring fictions and fun facts. Amidst the discussions on the future of libraries, books and printing that have been going on for some time now, Kdl.org is a great example of the kind of sites and help users expect from their libraries in the era of Wikipedia and Google.
