JustCauseIt.com – Connect to Change Society

JustCauseIt.comJustCauseIt is a social network with a philanthropic twist. Like Idealist, JustCauseIt lets you connect with other users who are troubled by the current state of the world and wish to spearhead positive changes for society.

The site features articles, events, forums, and blogs which are related to charitable ventures in several different categories (Arts, Education, Civic, Environment, Health, and International). Each of these tabs features its own page of content. If you’re a registered user, you can also post your own philanthropic findings. Since it’s also a social network, JustCauseIt lets you create a personal profile, in which you can upload your photo and tell the community about yourself. Like Facebook, you can add causes and groups, and you can also lists your blogs and articles. Naturally you can add other like-minded users on JustCauseIt as your friends as well. Lastly, JustCauseIt also plans to release an in-print magazine, so if you prefer the hard copy, it will be available late this year.

JustCauseIt.com In Their Own Words

“JustCauseIt.com (beta) is a social networking site connecting people to causes to create change. It’s social networking as you know and love it, but it actually has a purpose”.

Why JustCauseIt.com It Might Be A Killer

JustCauseIt provides a superbly designed, clean interface across which idealists can connect. Each category is filled to the brim with information, and the site makes it easy for you to add your own content as well. The personal profiles are more extensive and elegant than on Idealist.

Some Questions About JustCauseIt.com

JustCauseIt somewhat limits itself, I feel, by confining all content to just a few categories. Additionally, there’s too much overlap between categories (for example, “International” could easily be integrated across the rest of the categories). I think the site would benefit from either expanding its content genres or by utilizing its tag cloud only. JustCauseIt.com
