A mashup that has just surfaced on the WWW, JungleThingy will let you look up travel books on Amazon in a direct and smooth way. Generally speaking, all you have to do is click on your desired destination using the provided Google Map.
You will then come across a list of books that cover these locations. Click on any title from this list in order to learn more about it, and whether that book would be a sound investment or not.
It is important to stress that this service is in beta, and that some countries and cites are not supported as of yet. I tried it out with London and I came across both travel books and guides, including titles from the “For Dummies” series and some “Not For Tourists” guidebooks.
Other than that, there is not a lot more to add. Let’s hope that the project takes up as many destinations as it can in the shortest span available in order to give people the world over a thorough service. After all, traveling is a truly nurturing experience, and resources that make it more instant are never deemed surplus to the cause.
