Still Undecided About The Election? iSideWith Is The Startup That’s Helping You Make A Decision

With the elections quickly approaching and all the hoopla hitting hard on TV, the Internet and just about every media outlet, it’s great to find a startup like iSideWith, specifically created to help those who are still undecided (or just plain confused) to make a more informed decision… next week, in fact.

What candidate do you side with?

iSideWith lets you take a presidential election quiz to see which candidate lines up more with the issues you are most concerned about. Not sure what the issues actually are? Well, the quiz will help educate you on those too. Here’s how it works:

Take the quiz

The quiz consists of questions ranging from your stance on abortion to your opinion on offshore oil drilling to your support on increased gun control. The issues include:

  • Social
  • Environmental
  • Economic
  • Domestic policy
  • Healthcare
  • Foreign policy
  • Immigration
  • Science

Once you’ve chosen yes or no, you then rate how important that issue is to you (least to most). And the quiz is not just to match you up with Presidential candidates, you can also take House and Senate quizzes to discover which candidates you should most likely vote for. This is pretty useful… especially because most of us have no clue who these people are.

Watch this great “HOW TO” video and TAKE YOUR OWN QUIZ HERE.

Discover your candidate

Based on your answers, iSideWith then generates the Presidential candidate that most closely matches your stance on the above issues. You can also click on each state to see who other voters that have taken the quiz most closely side with (to get a tiny peak at possible results).

The political entrepreneurs

Developer Nick Boutelier and CEO Taylor Peck are the guys behind the site. Taylor is a politics junkie and Nick is, like most Americans, not very interested in politics. They created the site to help the average American have access to information that would match their views with candidates running for office. Ultimately, the site hopes to get more people to the polls and increase political dialog in the US. Check out Nick and Taylor’s in-depth article on Socialtech.com.

Almost 5 million people have taken the quiz already, which is pretty impressive. I took it and matched up with a candidate I didn’t even know was on the ballot, which is pretty unimpressive. If you’re confused, unsure or indifferent, check out iSideWith and get schooled, son! And then go vote, of course. Go big blue!

Holla Back!

Hey fellow KillerStartups fans, looks like many of you have checked out this article and are hopefully checking out iSideWith.com… and obviously getting prepared to vote like the proud American that you are. Awesome! I wanted to open up the forum by posing some questions. Feel free to leave your responses in the comments. Love the patriotic spirit!

  1. My results from the quiz brought up a candidate I didn’t even know was on the ballot. How do you feel about most publicity being put on just two candidates and parties?
  2. The quiz includes two questions regarding drug policies in the US. Why do you think this issue has not been brought up in recent debates (or hardly ever).
  3. Why do you think (or not think) all Americans should vote? What does that right mean to you?
