Apple is rumored to bring its high-end OLED displays to the entire iPhone 17 lineup next year. According to a leak on Weibo from Digital Chat Station, a source with a track record of accurate details, all iPhone 17 models are expected to feature the same LTPO panel technology used in the current iPhone 16 Pro models. This technology enables the variable refresh rate “ProMotion” displays.
The transition to ProMotion for all iPhone 17 variants aligns with predictions from industry analysts like Ross Young, a display supply chain expert. In September, Young stated that Apple might adopt ProMotion across its upcoming smartphone lineup. Rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 lineup may undergo other significant updates as well.

The “Plus” model might be replaced by an iPhone 17 “Slim” in 2025, which is also expected to feature ProMotion technology. Apple could differentiate its models further by incorporating features such as a smaller Face ID sensor, Dynamic Island cutout, and varying RAM capacities—12GB for the Pro models and 8GB for the standard and Slim models.
The entire iPhone 17 line is rumored to have 24MP front-facing cameras, doubling the resolution of current models. Additionally, the introduction of an Apple-designed Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip is anticipated. It is important to note that these details are based on leaks and rumors, and the final product may vary.
However, if these changes come to fruition, the iPhone 17 lineup will offer significant improvements in performance and display quality across the board.
