IndieMerchStore.com – Apparel, Music, Accessories

IndieMerchStore.comIf you too listen to bands that don’t exist yet, go over to this site (still in beta version) where you will be able to find a huge collection of t-shirts with an attitude, hoodies with a political agenda, music you’ll not be able to hear on the radio, books to live by, art prints to not-hang on your walls, and other essential artistic and consumer goods, all of them guaranteed to be very, very indie. The site for this Cleveland-based startup is of course very nicely designed and shopping it is very easy, though hopefully there’s more to come with the future versions of the site.

I was really expecting some form of highlighting hot items based on criteria that’s not just popularity (they do feature one shop –one garment line, that is— on the homepage); maybe they can use some form of tagging system that allow users to shop more along the lines of ‘concepts’ or styles as opposed to plain categories like clothes, music or art, which are not altogether that eloquent. I also found the site to be missing a sizing chart, which always comes in handy when buying a gift. It would also be handy to get some ‘about us’ area to allow garment designers or artists to know if they can submit their products to be sold through IndieMerchStore.com, and if so how to do it.
