Washington-based tech startup, Gravitics, has landed a monumental $125 million contract with Axiom Space. Their contribution will be instrumental in the creation of a forthcoming space station, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s trajectory and establishing them as leading contributors within the private space industry.

This contract represents an important stride for Gravitics, particularly as the firm harbors ambitions to manufacture private space stations. With this project, it asserts its ability to create modules boasting the ‘largest interior volume in a standalone spacecraft’.

Securing a contract with Axiom Space, Gravitics reinforce their firm footing within the blossoming market for orbital dwellings, collaborating closely with a prospective station operator predicted to deploy exploration hardware imminently. This partnership signals a significant step for the commercial space sector.

With NASA contemplating the retirement of the International Space Station, Gravitics is staking its claim as an industry leader for private space station construction. Axiom Space is also branching out to Italian aerospace contractor, Thales Alenia, for module creation.

Founded in 2021, Gravitics views this partnership as their most crucial project thus far. The company has gathered a total of $20 million in venture capital, earmarked for more advanced technology development and the hiring of seasoned professionals to dominate the market.

Currently employing 50 team members in a suburb north of Seattle, Gravitics focuses on producing space station modules intended for easy integration that can be launched on a variety of rockets. The company’s top-tier technological capabilities enable them to meet the rigors of space exploration.
