Google Apps have become a truly indelible part of the way many of us experience the Web. Gmail and YouTube, Google Maps and Panoramio, Google Docs and Google Calendars… even people who don’t spend the whole day sitting in front of a computer screen uses these services and applications regularly.
Just yesterday it was announced that YouTube alone gets a daily influx of visitors amounting to 2 billion. Yes, that’s right. One third of the world’s population visits the video hosting service each and every day.
Taking all that into consideration, it makes perfect sense for a site like Gpanion to emerge. It can be termed a start page wholly devoted to Google applications. You can access all of the applications and services that were mentioned above at a mere click, along with others like Google Buzz, Google Voice and Google Reader.
Gpanion, then, aims to position itself as a true timesaver by giving people a door to some of the most recurrent services that anybody accesses on a daily basis. While it is true that (for now) it is little more than a start page aggregating links, that doesn’t make it any less useful. I am keen to see in which ways it is developed from now on.
