Google has opened applications for the 2024 cohort of its Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program. The program invites Seed to Series A tech startups that are building innovative solutions for Africa to apply. The three-month hybrid accelerator is specifically aimed at Black-led technology startups in South Africa.
It brings the best of Google’s resources, including programs, products, and technology, to Black founder communities. The accelerator will pair startups with relevant Google and industry experts to address their top challenges. It will provide non-dilutive funding, insights, and best practices to improve their products and businesses.
The program will commence in November 2024 and conclude in January 2025. It will feature a cohort of 15 top Black-led South African startups. To be eligible, startups should demonstrate traction, ideally between Seed and Series A stage.
Their product or service should be scalable with a significant total addressable market and a defensible growth model. Startups should be deeply technical, preferably leveraging technologies like machine learning and AI.
